New Asthma Treatment Guidelines Released

Thursday August 30, 2007
For the first time in a decade, a major revision of the national asthma treatment guidelines has been released. The Expert Panel Report-3 (EPR-3), written by the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program, outlines major changes for the diagnosis and management of asthma in children and adults. The changes include closer monitoring and assessment of asthma control, patient education, avoidance of asthma triggers, as well as age-based recommendations for asthma medications.

So, if you, your child, or someone you know has asthma, now is the time to see your doctor to get under better control. And, with the fall pollen season approaching, along with cold and flu season, there's now more reason than ever to optimize the control of your asthma. Call your doctor today and find out how the EPR-3 can help you get control of your asthma - instead of your asthma controlling you!
