Invasion of the Asian Ladybugs

Tuesday November 13, 2007
They fly. They swarm. They cause nasal allergies and asthma. Who are they? Asian ladybugs, of course! And in many parts of the Midwest and East Coast, they're invading homes and causing all sorts of allergy problems. Asian Ladybugs cause allergies as a result of the droppings and body parts they leave behind.

In fact, over 20% of people visiting the allergist have positive allergy tests to Asian ladybugs; a rate nearly as high as for dust mites and cockroaches. So what can be done? First, find out if you're allergic. Next, learn measures to control your exposure to Asian ladybugs. Lastly, see your allergist for different treatment options available for Asian ladybug allergy.
