With the Holiday season over, spring allergies are right around the corner. Even though it may seem as if you've just put away the Holiday decorations (or maybe your Christmas lights are still up?), it's time to start planning your strategy to battle spring pollen allergies. In many parts of the country, especially the southern parts of the United States, trees will begin to pollinate heavily within the next few weeks.
If you haven't already done so, your first step in planning your fight against spring allergies is to see an allergist. Your allergist can determine what allergies you have with allergy testing, and then formulate a treatment plan best suited to your needs. This may include allergen avoidance, medications and the consideration of allergy shots.
And, with the release of Zyrtec over-the-counter without a prescription this Thursday (January 24, 2008), the treatment of seasonal allergies just got easier.

Dr. Oz recommends nasal irrigation (neti pot), I have also see it here http://www.rvita.com/conditions/allergies.html
Nasal irrigation has good scientific evidence of working on allergies. It will be interesting to find out what others think. It’s difficult to pour water through nostrils initially but after a few tries I am getting better at it.
