The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced last week that they concluded that there is no association between Singulair and suicide risk. Singulair (montelukast), has been available for the treatment of asthma for about 10 years, and has also been approved for the treatment of allergies. This drug works by blocking leukotrienes, which are allergic chemicals which promote inflammation in the nose and lungs.
