How does a 9 yr old girl with asthma, eczema and allergies get the best protection from H1N1, seasonal and pneumonia ?? How much is the immune systam compromised?? What medications for asthma wont interfer with the job these vaccines are doing??
The key thing is really prevention. Any child with allergies or asthma related issues has an immune compromised system. The best thing to do is really beef up your child’s immune system by supplementing with Vitamin C capsules, omega 3s and maybe even D3 over winter months (though it’s best to see a holistic doctor to get a D3 blood test to see if you or your child are D3 deficient or not. The reason people get sick over winter months is due to not getting outside and in the sun where we normally get our D3 which helps keep our immune system strong. You can read more about all of this at the mercola.com website. The key thing is to make an informed decision about the H1N1 shot (there is lots of information on the mercola.com website about this as well) and just do preventative things like above, use a hand sanitizer whenever you are in the car and running errands, etc. There are also other things you can do like gargling with salt water every evening as this is a good proactive measure as well. Magnesium liquid supplements can also help a child with asthma. The key thing is not to panic about this flu and just do proactive things to help enhance your immune system to keep from getting sick and do common sense things like the hand sanitizer when not near a spot to wash hands, etc. Teach your child to not touch their eyes, nose or mouth unless they just washed their hands and explain to them why since that is how the flu can get transmitted.
What Mag said about boosting vitamin D levels is right on. My personal experience can attest for that. The RDA is actually too low for vitamin D. You can read that in the materials that Mag already mentioned. This does work to help a person’s own immune system very well.
