I see patients everyday in my clinic who are allergic to their pets. It's amazing to me how many of these people don't even want to know if they're allergic to their furry friend. Granted, many of my patients won't part ways with their pets, even if their allergy symptoms make them absolutely miserable. However, there are many ways to reduce allergy symptoms by taking a few steps to reduce exposure to pet dander. While this may not eliminate allergy symptoms completely -- it may reduce symptoms to some degree. Ultimately, it's up to the owner of the pet to decide if their allergy symptoms, or taking allergy medicines in order to control them, is a worthwhile trade-off to keep the pet in the home. Do you have a tip that you've found helps to reduce your allergy symptoms and keep your pet? Share your story today.
