Definition: Refers to the disease process of being allergic, having an allergic disease, and/or making IgE antibodies against various allergens, such as pollens, pet dander, dust mites, foods and medications. Allergic diseases include asthma, allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, food allergies, etc.
