Occupational Asthma

Definition: Asthma that is caused only by exposures in the workplace, and did not exist prior to a particular job. These exposures may be allergic or irritant in nature. Asthma that is worsened by exposures in the workplace, but also occurred prior to the particular job is termed "work-exacerbated asthma."
