Learn the correct way to use a Foradil Aerolizer inhaler device.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 5 minutes
Here's How:
  1. Remove the blue cap from the Aerolizer device.
  2. Grasp the stem (top) of the Aerolizer, and twist it away from the bottom of the device.
  3. Remove a medication capsule from the packaging and place into the pill reservoir (see photo). DO NOT SWALLOW THE FORADIL CAPSULE!
  4. Twist the stem back into place.
  5. Using your thumb and index finger, firmly press the blue buttons on the side of the Aerolizer device. This breaks open the medication capsule so that the medication can be inhaled.
  6. Place your mouth over the stem of the Aerolizer, and take as a deep of a breath as possible. Hold the breath in for 5 to 10 seconds. You will hear the capsule rattle during the inhalation.
  7. Twist the stem of the Aerolizer away from the base of the inhaler to remove the empty capsule. Throw the empty capsule into the trash.
  8. Rinse your mouth with water and brush your teeth if desired, although this step is not required with Foradil.
