What I Did:
I was perscribed bactrim for a UTI, I had taken it before so I though nothing of it. This time I was perscribed bactrim DS (Double stregnth). I took my first pill and went off to school. Around lunch time a few of my friends commented on how red my face was. Then I started feeling an itching in my cheaks. I'd never had an allergic reaction to anything before but something was telling me this is what it was like. So I took two allergey pills, but then my lips started to swell. So I went home. layed down on the couch when I got there and took a nap (NOT recommended). When I woke up everything was completly swolen.
How I Did It:
I was rushed to the emergenccy room. Luckly it my throat hadn't started to swell, which is quite common and if goes untreated can be fatial. Not I carry an epie pen, and have to be exrteemly carefull.
Lessons Learned
- To not take bactrim.
- To get help at the first sings of an allergic reaction.
