From the article: Allergy Shots
Allergy shots provide the only allergy treatment that actually changes how the body deals with allergies. Most people who take allergy shots require less medications to treat their allergy symptoms, and about a third don't need any medications at all. Best of all, allergy shots continue to work for many years after the shots are stopped. What advice would you give to someone who has decided to start allergy shots? Sore arms, constant office visits -- what should they expect? Share Your Experiences

??????

I had received immunotherapy for over seven years, At first, I was a lot better. Then, in my seventh year, ragweed season was so bad, I had to be on steroids for 15 week. I recently was retested, and I still have the allergies, but the results were not as bad. My doctor dc'd the therapy, and I don't know why,,,

allergy shots

I did allergy shots for three years. They work and even helped my asthma. I stopped them and am now having trouble again. Will restart shots next week

Skip the shots

sublingual immunotherapy allergy drops are available from allergists or online from Canada. They are allergy specific for cat, pollen, ragweed etc, as effective almost as shots and cost no more that antihistamines. Much cheaper and easier to keep up with than shots.
