Mosquito Bites SUCK!!
- I have a 4 year old son who is highly allergic to mosiquito bites. When he gets a bite his whole limb will swell, if it's on his leg, he won't be able to walk for 3-4 days after the bite. It also gets blistery and drains in the process. I have been to see 3 different physicians to try to find a rememdy to reduce his swelling, but so far nothing has helped. Most recently he got a bite on his left forearm, his had turned purple and swelled to the point he could not move any fingers or his elbow. Again nothing but time seemed to help. There's go to be something somewhere to help reduce the swelling but I can't seem to find the answer.... any suggestions would be appreciated.

Daughter Allergic
- I think my daughter is allergic to mosquito bites. My husband and I both had lots of swelling with mosquito bites as children. She gets really swollen, but only to some bites and once or twice a summer gets a moderate fever for 2-3 days which seems to be related to one or more mosquito bites. Has anyone else experienced fever?

Aspirin!
- Mosquitos love me! The best treatment after I've been bitten is make a paste from aspirin and apply it to the bite. It nips it in the bud. Naturally, if you have an aspirin allergy, don't use this remedy!

Vinegar works
- Use White Vinegar takes away the itch and the swelling plus mosquitos do not like the smell.

My Reactions
- I always hated mosquitos, I always used bug spray with DEET, wore long sleeves and pants. But no matter what, I always got bitten multiple times. Most of the time, the bites will produce a bubble under my skin that is full of liquid. I never try to pop it but it eventually bursts and leaves exposed cuts and then leaves horrible scars. The bubbles were sometimes half an inch tall off my skin. Yesterday I got bitten on my right ankle, it started swelling so much to a point it covered the whole side of my foot.Since it hardened and tightened my skin, I could no longer bend my ankle or right foot. Im still dealing with it now with tons of ice to reduce swelling. For now I actually have to use a crutch to help me walk, and I'm only a teenager.

me and my puppy
- my puppy and i both got bitten on the same day last week and we both had severe reactions. both of us had our left eyes swollen shut and swollen lips. the vet suggested piriton for the pup, which took her swelling away within an hour. ive been using it for mine and four days later its finally subsiding! there must be something better, but at least it worked for my pup!

Bad Reaction To Some Relief
- I have experienced horrible reactions to mosquitoes all of my life. I am in my mid 40's and still suffer from these mad maosquitoes. I have ugly scars-some of which remain purpleish to this day, loss of pigment and I've tried every'relief' immaginable. The best to this point, I came across this year. If I don't have garlic pills, I chop up raw garlic into almost anything I eat, or I do both. When going out side I spray a new product from AVON-the Bug Guard Plus Anti-Itch Spray. It doesn't gag you with the smell, and it works marvelously. It works even better than the hommade bug spray I found at the Farmer's Market in our area. The draw back to the homemade one is it has to remain refrigerated, so not great for long trips unless you have a cooler along.

Mosquito Allergy
- Amazing relief with Homeopathic Apis Mellifica. I used to get very large itchy swollen pus-fill large bumps from a bite. Now, I take 3 little pills, let them dissolve sublingual, and it goes away within 15 minutes! It is also good for bee stings and hives reactions. Carry it with you, since it is most effective immediately after being bitten. Of course anytime later helps, too. Comment: I would not recommend this. This reader is referring to what amounts to "ground up honeybees", which may result in a severe allergic reaction in a person allergic to bee-stings. - Dr. More

Help from Aloe
- I am allergic to the little mosquitoes and after I am bitten and they swell up I put on the aloe for burns and that takes away the itch and the bite.

drblueeyes
- A health practitioner in Alaska would smack a dozen spring mosquitoes and whip them in a blender using the resultant half cup of liquid as a preventive spray. She claims no bites and no toxins. I wouldn't recommend this, nor do I see how this would work. - Dr. More

Evening Primrose Oil
- It's a natural remedy that works. If you're not allergic, to it that is, and few people are. I've had super severe reactions to it and after using EPO, the swelling goes down. They usually come in capsules, so when I say to use it, you usually cut open the capsule and apply the oil directly to the skin of the affected area. It works quite often better than a Benedryl for me.
