I frequently see patients in my clinic who've had asthma for most of their lives, and yet I'm always surprised by how little average asthmatics know about their disease. Most people are confused about what asthma is, what their different medications are for, and even how to correctly take them. This is why asthma education, especially for children, has been shown to significantly improve asthma control.
