A cough is the most common reason why people see their doctor. Most of the time, the cough lasts for only a few days. Sometimes, however, a cough can last for weeks to months, and even years in some cases. Have you had a chronic cough that you were able to finally get rid of? Another cause of chronic cough
- After 8months, three different antibiotics, 2 specialists, and many asthma/ COPD meds, my family doctor decided that I might have a fungal infection. Within a week of starting an anti-fungal, my wheezing went away. Within a month, the cough is almost gone and the sinusitis is getting better. And yet, it is rarely listed as a possible cause of chronic coughing.

cough everytime when i face examination
- I have no idea why i am coughing everytime when my examination is around the corner. hmm...is this a sick? Do anyone face the same problem too. everytime when my school exam is around the corner, i will keep on coughing in my class. I, myself don't realise it, until my friends tell me that and i try to take notice and i really cough just as everytime when the exam is near. So, doctor, is this cough harmful? Do you have idea why i am facing this? And how can i prevent this thing to happen?

Salbutamol/Ventolin Inhaler + Cetirizine
- I used to get flu-like illness every winter, followed by a hacking cough for 6-8 weeks afterwards. The cough was worst at night which stopped me getting a good nights sleep with the usual consequences. My GP diagnosed Asthma probably aggravated by a winter mould such as leaf mould. The Salbutamol Inhaler worked like magic to stop the cough, where nothing had touched it before. Now I take Cetirizine allergy tablets every day from late Autumn to early Spring and I don't get the flu-like illness or the cough at all.

Cause of Cough
- I was recently diagnosed by an ENT that my cough and sinus/chest congestion are caused by a deviated septum and food intolerences, not food allergy. The difference being the food is not sending me into (i.e.) shock, hives, or itching. He states that my sinus congestion/drainage from my nose is due to the defect. If I stay off dairy, chocolate, alcohol, spices, and oil I will be better. This does improve my need to cough and clear my throat. I use advair to keep the phlegm loose. But I can NOT eat anywhere but home. Has anyone else been told this too? Should I still consult an allergist for testing?
