Measles or Allergy

Keflex was given to treat unknown pharyngitis plus otitis media following two days of fever. On second day on antibiotics, he developed a full body rash that we suspected was caused by drug reaction, but our son does not have measles vaccine, so it may be that too considering his other symptoms of dry cough and congestion. He was prescribed azythromycin to continue antibiotic treatment and Zyrtec for allergy, but we are afraid to administer these for fear that it would only be a greater load for his liver to process.

THROW THEM AWAY

I had taken one pill at 10pm and didn't go asleep that night. I also had increase heart rate. I know that was not norma at all so. I'm stop taking them. Five days later I went to my doctor. He told me to stop taking them. And know I am having high heart rate. I'm going to do my blood test tomorrow.

This Was So Helpful

My girlfriend and I are both extremely allergic to penicillin. She is currently in hospital fight off a brutal infection and the doctors want to give her penicillin. She nearly died last time she had it. But I've just gotten them to run a skin allergy test for amoxacillin. Hopefully they can start her on desensitization otherwise she has to fight it on her own...

sudden allergy

I took one course of amoxy for an tooth abcess and then needed another. The next day I had what I thought were flea bites. That evening I developed serious itching and what I thought were hundreds of bites under my armpits, down my sides and in my groin, huge weltish itchy lumps appeared. I got myself down the hospital and was diagnosed with penicillin allergy. I never had it before. It was quite alarming
