From the article: Antihistamines
Over the past few years, many prescription antihistamines have now become available over-the-counter (OTC) without a prescription. Claritin and Zyrtec have been available OTC for years, and Allegra will become available OTC during the spring of 2011.
Some people may think this is a good thing, but is it? While a person won't need to visit their doctor for a prescription, insurance companies won't cover the cost of an OTC medication, and health savings accounts no longer cover the cost of OTC medications, either. Share your thoughts about OTC antihistamines, and read about the thoughts of others.
