Allergy cures

Three heater filters One roll of duct tape One can of Endust Spray the heater filters with the Endust and tape them all together into your bedroom window. Make sure that that is the only way air flows into the room, use a fan to ensure one-way flow if you can. Sleeping in filtered air every night will help greatly in cutting down the severity of seasonal allergies.

I am a pharmacist, owned two pharmacies. I have suggested to hundreds of patients to get a large bottle of normal saline and a tube of triple antibiotic ointment.Use the saline to douche your nostrils once or twice a day.Use your little finger, squirt out a worm on the end of your finger.Massage each nostril with the ointment two or three times a day. When you inhale bacteria it will collect on the hair follicles rather than you breath it in.For 30 years I shared and many have returned and thanked me for my suggestion.Think about using this remedy to prevent the H1 bacteria. ***Physicians recommend a similar technique for those with recurrent/chronic sinus infections, but I wouldn't recommend this to the typical allergy sufferer. The reader refers to "the H1 bacteria", which I suspect he means the H1N1-type of the swine influenza virus. Antibiotic ointments would not be useful against viral infections. - Dr More***

Allergies to dust, mold, (seasonal)

Tylenol Sinus is my life-saver! It worked better with the pseudohyphedrine but I still take the newer version and it works ok. I want my pseudohyphedrine back! Why do I have to suffer because junkies abuse the only thing that seems to help me? Doctor prescribed something else with that ingredient but it doesn't do what the Tylenol Sinus did.

Tea is my Miracle

I drink a loose leaf Japanese tea called Benifuhki is works IMMEDIATELY. A very interesting tea that was only developed in the '90's in Japan. Benifuhki has characteristics somewhere between a Japanese and Chinese tea. One of the only teas I know of made in Japan that is actually roasted like a Chinese Dragon Well but then slightly rolled like a curled Oolong. The result of this unique processing is a tea very high in methylcatechin that is effective at mitigating hay fever symptoms, is low in caffeine and has anti-allergic capacities. The taste is good too; a rich honey/nut and fresh cut grass blend. very nice and a real miracle.

If you have pollen allergies, try eating local honey. About one table spoon a day. It contains trace amounts of pollen. It MUST BE LOCAL. It has worked for me & several of my friends. ***Caution. This could result in a severe allergic reaction. Please see my article on this subject - place the term "honey for allergies" in the search box. -- Dr More***

Remedies

I start with 1 tsp Cod Liver Oil every night starting in Aug. to ward off sinus infections. If I get the slightest bit of a score throat, which is the start of a sinus infection for me, I gargle with hydro peroxide. It really works for getting rid of a sore throat. If you do that, you will not get sick. Along with that I eat fresh garlic which is a natural antibiotic. Also I eat small slivers of ginger to dry up any mucus. For the last 4 years I have taken the wholistic approach to my allergies, colds etc. and have had great success. The body can heal itself if you just allow it to do so. Since I have been following this regiment, I have not really been sick or overly bothered with allergies in 4 years.

How I Overcame Allergies

I have had only minimal allergy symptoms since I began to take a food supplement combination of glyconutrients, plant-based multivitamin/minerals, phytosterols (Wild yam), and an antioxidant. I went from real misery twice a year--once in the spring and once in the fall--to being able now, in the peak of ragweed season, take a walk outdoors in the country every morning. I have only a bit of post-nasal drip, and no coughing, nose blowing or eyes watering. ***There is no scientific basis for this reader's suggested therapy. Check with your doctor before attempting over-the-counter therapies for allergies or asthma. - Dr. More***

allergies, one more suggestion

Nasal washing also helps some people. You can use a neti pot and do it the traditional way, but you can get lots of benefits without. You can cup warm water in your hands, and 'snuff' it up both nostrils; tilt your head and it helps run through; or even letting the gentle spray from the shower get into the nostrils well. You know that weird feeling when you swim underwater and the water goes up your nose? Well, that actually has washed through your nasal passage and will have flushed it out. Think about if you have ever done sanding, or been where you were breathing in something and later blew your nose, and we're grossed out about what came out. Well...our nose does collect a lot of gross stuff. That is what all the little hairs in the nose do. That is why we should breathe in and out from the nose, so the hairs trap things in the air and prevent them from entering the rest of the body. Hope that helps some of you! Marilyn

My imagination

I've been told that it's all in my head by several members of my family. This is despite having years of test and shots and on one occasion almost dying when my throat closed up in response to my allergy. Anyone else have that happen to them?

And this to shall pass...

I've had seasonal allergies all my life. Each season presents itself...Spring - Fall - Summer- Winter. My past was filled with expensive almost daily meds. I'm someone who enjoys gardening...mowing my own lawn pulling weeds. If I sneezed there went my bladder. Then sometime in the early '90's I tried Echinacea & Goldenseal like majic no more suffering. It's inexpensive, No side effects. The only product for me is by Trader Joe's 200MG Echinacea and 50MG Goldenseal Root. It may not be for everyone but it works for me and other sufferer's I know who are thankful for the discovery. Hope this is helpful to your readers.
